Life is the most precious gift anyone could ever receive. But how do we define life? What is life all about? What is the very purpose of existence? Why are we here? And if life exists, why must it come to an end? The search for life’s meaning seems to be endless.

Life has different definitions for different people. There are no clear and correct answers. It is like seeing the color red. Everyone of us can see it but we have different perceptions of it. For some, “Life is all about having fun.” To others, “It is all about love”. And for a philosopher like Aristotle, “Happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life. The whole aim and the end of human existence.”

Life is a circle of happiness and sorrows. We have to get ready to taste everything. Sometimes we fall because we think we are not enough. But we should always, always remember that the reason why we are here is because we have a purpose. The sun doesn’t shine just because it is the sun. The rain doesn’t fall just because it is the rain. So are we. We are here for a purpose. To touch lives of others. To help other beings. We are here because we are needed to be here. Our existence has an important role in this planet.

At the end of the day, everything in this world is temporary. It is the reality of it. It is the writing on the wall. There are things that we cannot change and we have to accept it. If life ends, it is because the purpose of that living being is done. Just like a candle that give light to darkness. We should always tell people how important they are to us. Not because they could leave at any moment but because they are here now. We get to take chances for the things we care about.

Life has no limitations except for the ones that we create. As what AR Lucas said, “If there’s even a slight chance at getting something that will make you happy, risk it. Life’s too short and happiness is too rare.” Maybe, for now, your purpose is waking up in the morning and taking on the day ahead. Maybe your purpose is continuing to live despite it all.
